Real talk.
Real problems.
Real solutions.

The Oregon Network for Education Excellence (ONE2) is convening education leaders across the state to network, inspire, and model how to make Oregon one of the best places in the country to be a student.

ONE2 aims to connect the dots between:

  • State and local education systems,

  • Policy and practice, at the State, local, and community levels,

  • Good intentions and excellent outcomes.

NETWORK

A statewide network will unite small, medium, and large community education leaders across the education landscape who embrace talking about problems and what can be done to solve them. Leaders will participate in geographically-based and role-alike convenings and cohorts to build capacity to advance Oregon education system improvement. Direct, problem-solving, and improvement-focused conversations.

INSPIRE

Develop a shared vision and recommended actions for Oregon education over the next decade. Inspire local and regional action.

MODEL

Model a process of statewide education policy and planning that Oregon can leverage with ongoing, regular improvements to the system with outcomes improvement tracking.

Who is ONE2 for?

Local education leaders including:

  • District and school leaders

  • School board members

  • School- and community-based educators

  • Students leading in their school communities

Together, we share these values:

  1. Laser-focused on closing opportunity and achievement gaps and raising the bar for all students to improve student academic outcomes and wellbeing.

  2. Embrace accountability focused on shared goals and outcomes with a State system that works as we expect it to - effectively and efficiently.

  3. Recognize State roles and responsibilities, while also considering what local leaders can do at the local level, too.

  4. Recognize that money and funding matters, and how that money is spent at all levels.

  5. Ready to get to the heart of systemic challenges and collectively act to tackle them.

Who is the Network?

We are not interested in building a plan to sit on a shelf.

We’re building a series of actions at the local, regional, and State levels that connected to a shared vision and shared goals.

Most importantly, the process we use includes the people who will make these planned actions come to life in their own communities.
